How we help

Facilitating Kindness

Facilitating kindness means building connections between people in our community through the medium of kindness.

We do this in a number of ways:

Celebrating Community Heroes

We shine a light on everyday kindness through community awards and recognition programmes. Because kindness deserves to be seen, valued, and celebrated.

Supporting People in Times of Need

Life can change in an instant. Medical events. Financial stress. Personal disasters.

We step in with practical, immediate support and connect families with trusted local services for longer-term stability.

Growing Kindness in the Next Generation

Through initiatives like college Kindness Awards and scholarships, we encourage young people to lead with compassion and contribute positively to our community.

Creating and Partnering on Kindness Projects

We develop our own kindness initiatives and work alongside community partners to enhance shared projects that strengthen compassion across Kapiti.

The Outcome

The result is not just a kinder community.

It is a more resilient one.

A community that knows how to care.
A community that knows how to share.
A community that knows how to stand together.

And that makes Kapiti a better place to live for everyone.

What We Did In 2025

Last year was about more than just numbers—it was about the lives changed and the connections made.

Together, we acted as a frontline lifeline for almost 500 people across our coast, proving that when Kapiti stands together, no one falls through the cracks.

Our impact took many forms:

Crisis Care: We were there with immediate, hands-on support for families navigating the devastating aftermath of local fires.

Investing in Potential: We championed the next generation by awarding Kindness Scholarships to students across three local colleges.

Breaking Barriers to Health: By partnering with local pharmacy, radiology, and physio practices, we ensured that essential healthcare remained accessible to our citizens based on need, not just income.

Holiday Magic: Working alongside Birthright, we turned community spirit into Christmas reality, ensuring Kapiti kids had presents to open and a reason to smile.

Essential Relief: From providing emergency food vouchers to navigating families toward long-term local services, we made sure no one had to face hardship alone.
